Modern Fever is a proud member of The GoodWeave Organization. Our rugs are certified by GoodWeave (Formerly known as RugMark.)

Unfortunately in the handmade carpet industry nearly 250,000 children are exploited. GoodWeave is helping to combat this problem and transform the handmade rug industry by certifying child-labor-free rugs and by providing education and opportunities to rescue at-risk children. The GoodWeave program is implemented by RugMark International.

Our Environmental Commitment

Modern Fever is making a conscious effort to protect the environment.  We are committed to develop new and innovative methods to improve everything we produce, from our designs to the way we deliver the products to your location.

Modern Fever offers eco-friendly products from an exclusive line of hand-woven Tibetan rugs! We have been manufacturing eco-friendly, organic, hand-knotted Tibetan rugs since 2008. Through smart manufacturing methods and a responsible "green" campaign, we can be successful in minimizing the harm inflicted upon our planet. Since 2008, we have converted our catalogues to a lighter-weight paper and reduced the size of several catalogue formats. Most importantly, we have made our catalogue available for view on our website in order to save on printing.

Furthermore, an initiative has been put in place to donate a portion of our sales to the protection and conservation of our environment. Together… we can make a difference.

Esref Teker

Esref Teker has over 25 years of experience in wholesale, retailing, and antique carpet repair. This Turkish born entrepreneur has earned a reputation in northern California's wholesale market as a leading authority in new and antique rugs. Esref has cultivated board knowledge of rug history and craft; along with maintaining relationships with rug-making communities around the world. Tenacity, focused ambition and business acumen, Esref has built a company that is now recognized as one of the largest manufacturers and innovators of fine contemporary rugs in northern California. Offering distinctive designs in a wide range of styles and weaving them in every fiber imaginable–– from the finest silks and wools to fashionable materials such as jute, and hemp– Modern Fever is renowned for producing the highest quality hand knotted rugs from all over the world (Turkey, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tibet, and Iran) in the marketplace today. Modern Fever has impacted the decorative accessories industry by taking giant steps forward in an ever–evolving marketplace, while remaining true to Esref's original vision keeping the art of weaving alive.

Vaheed A. Taheri

Graduated in Textile design, urban planning and working with well known carpet & textile designers. As well as experiencing with leading architects and interior designers throughout his studies. Vaheed having a carrier as a carpet designer in Canada and United States, gave him clear exquisite understanding of contemporary art for floor covering and as well as life style. Fascinated by the uniqueness of Hand–made rugs from his Native land and by the prestige of design from the serenity of a Zen pebble garden in Far East of Asia, to the classic elegance of the French Savonnerie, made the Iranian born carpet designer more focused on the innovation, sustainability and artistic aspect of the design and rug weaving. Vaheed understanding of contemporary life style is shining throughout the exclusive collection of handmade decorative carpets at Modernfever, where seven star customer services meet the suitability and innovation in design and rug weaving. Vaheed's love of nature, history, art, culture, and fashion are evident in the unique color palettes and designs that characterize Modernfever's exclusive collection. He lunched Modernfever brand with CEO and Co founder, Esref Teker the president of Istanbul Rug Inc. in San Francisco's design district to enrich a rug history with unique vision and meaning to pass the torch to next generation of carpet designers.
