Terms and Conditions for Custom Orders
Sales and Production:
All Major Credit Cards are accepted.
8.75% sales tax rate applies to orders within California. No sales tax applies to orders outside California or valid reseller certificate.
Production for Collection and custom carpets take 12–18 weeks, depending on size, and begins when the carpet is paid in full. All sales are final once production is approved. All orders ship to Modern Fever for inspection before release.
All Modern Fever products are GoodWeave certified, meaning no child labor is used in the production of our carpets and a percentage of our sales support educational and rehabilitation programs in the weaving communities of Nepal, India and Afghanistan.
All custom order samples and designs are the property of Modern Fever.
A custom sample is not required for size modifications to Collection rugs.
A 1' ×1' strike off sample is supplied for $150.00 per custom orderand is rebated when the order is placed. Lead time for sample orders is approximately 2 weeks. Charges may apply for additional samples.
Rugs larger than 192 sq ft will receive a 3% surcharge.
If a custom design project is started and canceled during or after the design work is complete, the client will be billed for design services rendered. Design service cost is based on each project’s size, design and quality and is determined by the price difference between a Collection rug and its Custom Design equivalent.
Custom stair runners require measurement and/or a template (if curved) from the client to guarantee an exact fit. For stair and wall-to-wall coverage an extra 3-4 inches of material is added to ensure a proper installation.
For permanent installation of custom products such as our stair runners or wall-to-wall carpet, an experienced carpet installer is highly recommended.
Delivery and Installation:
Once Modern Fever inspects an order, it is shipped or locally delivered to the client. Installation is the responsibility of the reseller or client, unless mentioned otherwise.
Shipping is priced at current UPS ground and insurance rates. All shipments require a signature at the time of delivery and are billed directly to the client.
Damages and Repairs:
Modern Fever is responsible if an order is damaged during the shipping process. Modern Fever will assess all damaged shipments and if there is no fault to the client, the carpet will be sent out for repair. If the rug is beyond repair a replacement may be ordered, all costs will be incurred by Modern Fever, or completely refunded. A replacement rug will take the industry standard of 12–18 weeks, depending on size, for production and delivery.
Modern Fever is not responsible for a carpet if it is damaged while in the possession of the client, installer or chosen courier.
Refunds and Exchanges:
Refunds and exchanges are not available for modified or custom products or products damaged by the client as previously listed under Damages and Repairs.
A Note on Handmade Products:
Modern Fever carpets are all natural, handcrafted works of art and may contain variations in color, texture and quality. This inherent and beautiful attribute is a characteristic Modern Fever is proud of. Slight inconsistencies such as striations in color, shape or rendering of the design are part of the process, giving Modern Fever’s handmade carpets a timeless, natural and human quality.
